The notification system sucks on most (maybe all) boards

I need to read the links
Move of my devices have the serial connected permanently.
But first don't ever connect the red wire (like in most movies, the ones with explosives)
This may damage *any* boarsd not only the IB 4220

Yep I already figured it that the 5v (red wire) shouldn´t be used.
Now, what tools should I use to "flash" the unit? I mean, what software may I use to upload the firmware?
Any firmware specific? or can load any firmware?

    Thank you

You need only a TFTP server on your PC, and some serial console

    On Linux System this may
    in.tftpd
    picocom

I usually use dnsmasq from my CPE, I'm running LEDE (OpenWRT) on all of my CPE's.
so I can locally login via ssh.

For other systems i.e. Windows or Mac I don't know which software do you can use.

For the pinout of the serial port

    for the unbricking guide

If there is anything missing please ask ...

Yep, I´m not a Linux user, I use Windows... I have TFTPd64, but how can I see the ib4220 there? do I have to have the serial cable and the ethernet connected? or the tftp can see the box only with serial?

Sorry about the noob questions, trust me, I´ve read the wiki many times, but the most difficult part for me, is how to connect the box, and how to flash the files into it.

    Thank you for your patience

    Your need both connections.
ethernet to transfer the data and serial to control

First would check the serial connection.
This Image shows the pinout of the 10-pin header
    http://forum.nas-portal.org/attachme...1&d=1230456218
But I don't know anymore which one is PIN 1, maybe I will find this.
    Need some time for this

I know which pin is pin 1, it´s described on the board.

Ok, I´ll try to get some free time to test this.

    Thank you

    Remember :
The IB4220 and your TFTP server must be in the same network.
    i.e.
    Code:
    IB4220 192.168.1.10
    TFTP 192.168.1.20
Don't hesitate to write me some PM.
As I said the notification sucks here, if your answer to my post
