  • IB-NAS4220-B change 2.6.3.1 to 2.6.3.IB.1.RS.1 problems

    Using the web interface I am trying to change from firmware 2.6.3.1 to 2.6.3.IB.1.RS.1 so that i can install some new packages but when i try to upgrade i get a "wrong vendor ID" error. The file i am using to upgrade is called "2.6.3.IB.1.RS.1-webup-20080924.tgz". Am i doing somwthing wrong?

    This is a Bug in FW 2.6.3.1

    Why do you wish to downgrade ?
    FW 2.6.3.1 supports packages too.

    If you still want to downgrade, please edit /usr/sausalito/handlers/base/upgrade2/CheckImage.sh and remove the following lines
    Code:
    if [ $Vendor_local != $Vendor_now ]; then
         echo "Error:The VendorID is wrong."
         exit 4
    fi
    Then try to downgrade again.

      I though that the IB.1.RS.1 named firmware was needed for applications such as SSH and Stream Ripper?

        no, 2.6.3.1 is newer.

        Raidsonic changed its numbering beginning with 2.6.3.1.

          sounds a bit strange and confusing to me. I think they need to upgrade their documentation as it doesn't mention that the numbering. Thanks for clearing that up for me gmeyer

                You have to go to the NAS via telnet/ssh as root (same PW as admin) and edit the file with vi:
                Code:
                vi /usr/sausalito/handlers/base/upgrade2/CheckImage.sh
